The League of Voluntary Workers raised £8,500 to buy a bladder scanner for the Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre based at Burnley General Hospital.

Having the scanner means that staff at the unit can check the condition of patients’ bladders and also guard against urinary infections without having to call staff over from the main hospital building.

The scanner was presented to the unit by the League chairman Mrs Joan Carpenter along with several of the volunteers.
