Burnley firm makes major£500,000 investment

A Burnley based printing firm have greatly increased its production capability with a £500,000 investment in a new printing press and a 4,500 sq.ft facility to house it in.

Peter Scott Printers, which is situated at Belshaw Court on Billington Road, unveiled the new six colour press at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the firms premises to mark the printers first run.

Cutting the ribbon was former Burnley FC striker and co-founder of the University of College and Football Business (UCFB) Paul Fletcher, who once ran his own printing business to supplement his income when he was an apprentice footballer.

Performing the opening ceremony, Mr Fletcher said: “I am always very supportive of local businesses, especially those that are expanding.

“UCFB has a great relationship with Peter Scott Printers so I was delighted to be asked to set the new press rolling, especially with my connections in the print industry.”

Peter Scott Printers produces a range of printed materials ranging from national companies to local businesses.

The new printer is expected to increase the firms turnover capacity by around 50%.

Peter Scott Printers commercial director Joanne Hindley, said: “Although we’ve been around since 1960 we make it our business to constantly update machinery so we can provide our clients with the very best service.

Peter Scott Printers production director Tom Gaughan, added: “This new printer that we have brought in runs 25% faster and more efficiently.

“Therefore, the investment that we have made by bringing this printer in will enable us to meet our customers needs by delivering a first class and fast turnaround printing service.”
