Burnley child sex pervert (41) faces years in jail

A BURNLEY man who sexually abused two little girls has been warned he faces “many years” in prison.

Mark Jacques (41), of Rylands Street, admitted four charges of raping a child under 13, five counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, three allegations of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and two charges of sexual activity with a child.

The offences took place between 2006 and 2010.

The defendant was bailed at Burnley Crown Court until February 28th for a pre-sentence report. He must live at his home address, observe a curfew between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. and report to Burnley police station every day, between noon and 3 p.m.

He must not contact prosecution witnesses, is banned from allowing any female child under 16 into his home and must not be in the presence of any female child under 16, unless in the supervision of a responsible adult over 21.

The defendant was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.

Judge Beverly Lunt, who said she would have to consider if the defendant was a danger to the public, told Jacques: “The inevitable sentence will be many years of imprisonment.”
