An afternoon of bridge, attended by more than 90 members, was held at the club and afternoon tea was provided together with a cake stall, bric-a-brac and raffle.

Susan Fillary, who organised the event, expressed her thanks to all the club members who supported the event and made donations. She also thanked the Macmillan ladies who gave up their time and all those who helped to prepare and serve the afternoon tea. There is no government funding for this charity so it is vital that the local community and groups such as Brierfield Bridge Club fundraise to help those people surviving and living with cancer.
