Breast Cancer Awareness Month sweeps Xercise4Less

Xercise4Less, and award-winning gym in Burnley, has marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an announcement of its link up with Breast Cancer Care.

The only specialist UK-wide charity providing vital care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer from day one, Breast Cancer Care will receive £1 for each new member that joins any of the 43 Xercise4Less gyms throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Every Big Pink Open Weekend, Big Pink activities will be run, giving members the option to bring a friend for free and encouraging a donation to Breast Cancer Care, while on October 7th and 8th, Big Pink Classes will encourage members to wear pink to classes between 9am and 11am.

The “Big Pink Lift Challenge” will also be taking place on the 15th and 16th, where members can take part in the challenge try to lift a weight, after which their score will be recorded and a lucky, random-selected winner taking home a HD TV kindly donated by Scitec Nutrition.

For the fitness fanatics amonst us, the “Big Pink Walk” will take place on the 22nd and 23rd. Members clad all in pink can walk or run 5km on a treadmill between 10am and 12pm, while - finally - a Big Pink open weekend on the 29th and 30th will offer protein sampling and pink protein shaker giveaways courtesy of Scitec Nutrition.

Tim Weir, General Manager at Xercise4Less Burnley, said: “It’s always a pleasure getting involved in charity initiatives like this. This cause is one that is close to so many people as a result of loved ones having been affected by breast cancer in some way, shape or form. We want to see as many people in the gym as possible to help raise lots of money and awareness for a hugely worthwhile cause.”
