BREAKING: Lawson cancel rescheduled Burnley gig

The group, known for songs including “Standing in the Dark” and “When She Was Mine”, were due to perform at the UCLan campus, in Princess Way, on May 4th.

But due to lead vocalist Andy Brown falling ill, it was postponed to June 7th.

Now the band have revealed they will be unable to attend the rescheduled gig, apologising to ticket holders.

A spokesman said: “We’re pleased to let you know Andy is now back at home after his recent illness, however doctors are advising that further rest is going to be vital for him to make a full recovery.

“Sadly this means we are now unable to make the rescheduled date for the UCLAN concert in Burnley on June 7th.

“We’re really sorry for having to cancel but hope you understand – and hope it won’t be too long before Andy is fighting fit again. Huge thanks to everyone for their get well wishes. See you all soon.”

Heartthrob Andy, who boasts around 14,500 followers on Twitter, was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just 19-years-old.

The name of the band Lawson, which also consists of Ryan Fletcher, Joel Peat and Adam Pitts, was inspired by the Liverpool brain surgeon who saved his life, Mr David Lawson.
