It was a challenge too good to turn down for East Lancashire Newspapers reporter Dan Black, known for his hearty appetite, who visited Chatburn family ice-cream shop Hudson’s on one of the hottest days of 2013.

Filmed by Kelvin Stuttard, Dan scoffed as much of the shop’s delicious home-made vanilla ice-cream as he could in two minutes ... and went through the pain barrier in the process. Describing the sensation in his teeth, back of his mouth and brain as “horrible”!
