Bearded attacker knocks out man in Clitheroe attack

POLICE are looking for a ginger-bearded man who assaulted another man at the cash machine outside NatWest bank at the corner of York Street and Wellgate, Clitheroe, early on Monday morning.

The victim, aged 20, from Burnley, was punched in the face and knocked unconscious.

Police believe the assault was not a robbery attempt, but may have been connected with an earlier incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101. CCTV images are being studied.

The attacker was in his late 20s or early 30s, with a bald head and a short stubbly ginger beard. He was wearing a dark blazer.
