Actor's life suits TV star

Homegrown actor Jack Hartley, who has starred in a series of television hits, including Peaky Blinders and Holby City, is stepping behind the camera for his latest venture.

Jack (22) from Worsthorne has created a short poetry film as part of his coursework at Blackburn College where he is a studying a foundation diploma in Art and Design. His work is on show as part of the college’s Made Great in Britain creative art exhibition.

Former Towneley High School student Jack, who has also appeared in Coronation Street and CBBC show Rocket Island, said: “I’ve really enjoyed being on TV and being in front of the camera, but wanted to try out being on the other side creating my own work.”

Jack filmed a poet reciting a series of verses that he linked together as though the artiste was having a conversation with himself.

The young actor has also written a short film called Summer Holidays and he is also promoting a film he has appeared in called The Truants written by former Blackburn College student Aaron Dunleavy.
