It had big diesel locomotives at either end and a dozen carriages carrying around 500 people. It set out from Crewe, then up to Preston, into the Lake District, back down and on to Blackpool, then through Burnley and Pendle to reach Colne Station at around 3-40am.

There were a few people on the platform there to see it arrive, although it was pitch black at the time. But then scores came out of the train to have a look round.

After t a few minutes, it went back along the line, heading to Manchester Airport and then making its way back to Crewe.
