Bosses at the company, which produces components for Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and Peugeot as well as the energy and aerospace sectors, hailed the contract which will boost manufacturing operations in Burnley.

BCW is now planning to recruit engineers, team leaders and machine operators to take on the workload which could also see the firm open a fourth manufacturing base in the town.

The company has seen growth in all its six core sectors but the past 12 months have seen a boom in turbo charger production. Bosses put the rise down to more car companies looking to cut emissions by reducing the size of the engine while installing turbo chargers which offer the same power output.

BCW is reaping the rewards of the shift to greener technologies and hopes are to more than double the turnover from £10m. a year to £25m. over the next five years.
