202 new homes bid for chemical plant site


A detailed planning application has been submitted to Burnley Borough Council and will go before planners later this year.
The scheme will feature 42 two-bedroom, 132 three bedroom and 28 four-bedroom properties along with extensive landscaping and open spaces.

Hide AdThe proposed development is located to the north of Hapton, bound to the east by a former landfill site and Burnley Bridge Business Park, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to the south and agricultural land to the north.
Gleeson state that the dev elopment will feature a mix of house types to ‘create lively, vibrant and diverse street scenes.
The proposal will seek to retain the majority of existing trees and introduce a number of new native and specimen trees.
Anew native species hedge will line a large extent of the eastern boundary to the proposed residential development with the northern edgebound by existing and proposed trees.

Hide AdA proposed timber lined gravel footpath will meander through a large part of the recreational area with access both to and from the proposed residential development. Pedestrian access will also be provided to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath.
