20 jobs boost at call centre

A telecom company is taking on 20 extra staff to cope with growing demand.

New Call Telecom, which owns the Primus Saver brand, has grown strongly since relocating its Indian contact centre operation from Mumbai in India to Simonstone in 2011.

The latest recruitment drive will take New Call’s workforce to 190, almost double what it was at the beginning of last year.

The jobs news was announced during a visit by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson to the firm’s current Nelson base.

Mr Stephenson said: “It is inspiring to see how a local enterprise has managed to fulfil its business targets while contributing to the region’s growth by hiring local candidates.”

New Call chief executive Nigel Eastwood, who studied at Burnley College, said: “This latest recruitment initiative and business expansion is driven by our strong growth and business commitment.

“Since relocating to Lancashire we have received a number of industry awards and best value recommendations in recognition of our impressive offering. It is vital that we continue to employ the best and most passionate staff to ensure our success.”

The company says it is strongly committed to the local community and promotes employee education and training through the New Call Academy apprenticeship scheme.

It is due to move back to Burnley to new offices in the Weavers’ Triangle

New Call Telecom was recently nominated in several categories of the BIBAs, which are Lancashire’s biggest business awards, including “Most Inspiring Business of the Year”. It was also nominated for “High Growth Business of the Year” at the E3 Business awards.

The company provides services for home phones and broadband and international calling services.
