A new exhibition was hosted at The Loft Hair Salon in Clitheroe over the weekend with the aim of bringing the community together in a neurodivergence and mental health friendly atmosphere

The exhibition, titled 'The Morning After the Storm', showcased a collection born from a period of profound personal transformation. The pieces reflected a raw and intentional journey, which entails artist Cezary Flak rediscovering his inner child, ruthlessly protecting his peace, and stripping away societal expectations to uncover who he truly is at the core.

The 'Morning After the Storm' exhibition ran from 4pm Friday, August 14th until Sunday, August 16th at 5pm. For Jessica, who owns The Loft Hair Salon, the exhibition stemmed from navigating the depth of postnatal mental health and neurodivergent struggles, discovering a path forward rooted in creation over medication. “Real, sustainable healing happens when people are empowered to express themselves and process our inner worlds through art. The pair hope to bridge the gap between being heavily medicated or institutionalised and finding genuine, grounded recovery. By honoring our own thoughts and independent opinions, we can reclaim our lives. This event is a blueprint for turning lived survival into a source of hope and peace for others,” she said previously to the Express.

The debut as an exhibition curator was a deeply personal milestone for Jessica, signalling a “defining moment of strength both as a mother and as a businesswoman,” she says, and added that she’s optimistic about making an exhibition a permanent fixture on the calendar. Each piece that featured in the exhibition carried its own story and spirit. Jessica and Flak’s vision, she says, was rooted in absolute honesty rather than technical perfection.
