But doesn’t it annoy you when people from outside the area get the wrong end of the stick, or don’t appreciate the Red Rose county in all it’s glory?

5. Underestimating our cuisine
Lancashire might be known for it's traditional fayre of hot pot and black puddings, but actually, we're a recognised culinary hotspot. Some of the very best restaurants are in the Red Rose county - including 3 Michein starred Moor Hall, and Northcote in Langho, which was named third best in the world by Tripadvisor. | Google

6. Mispronouncing place names
Everywhere has place names visitors struggle with, and Lancashire is no different. Penwortham often has the stress put on the wrong part syllable (should be 'Pen-wu-thum'), Euxton (pronouned Ex-ton) has everyone confused, and let's not talk about Cuerden (cue-er-den). | Google

7. Thinking you can relive your youth at Tokyo Jo's
Sadly the legendary nightclub Tokyo Jo's (or Tokes as it was often called), which became Lava and Ignite and then Evoque, was demolished in January 2023 after a major fire. | National World

8. Thinking you can drive up Fishergate Hill
It might be the most direct route into Preston city centre if you're coming from certain areas of South Ribble or the Docks, but unless you're behind the wheel of a bus, you're not driving up Fishergate Hill. No, you'll have to go all the way round the houses and come up Marsh Lane instead. And when you're leaving, don't even think of turning right at the top of Butler Street... | Google Maps
