A BBC regular, he is well known for his appearances on TV’s “Grumpy Old Men”, “Q.I.”, “Have I Got News For You” and “The One Show”.

As a writer and broadcaster, he is an expert in delivering the unexpected and his alternative approach to comedy shook the world of light entertainment in the 1980s and ’90s’.

This summer he has performed to sell-out audiences at the Fringe and was nominated for the Malcolm Hardee award for his insistence that reviewers would only be allowed in to the show if they promised to juggle.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 8 p.m., are £14/£12 and can be bought by calling the box office on 01282 664400 or visiting www.burnleymechanics.co.uk.
