With nearly four decades of experience in the motor industry, Paul Shepherd leads a highly experienced team who work closely together at Earby Autos Ltd who strive to set the industry standard. Not only will they carry out the repair or service of your vehicle but will take the time to explain what needed doing and why.
Now with his wife Samantha, Paul runs Earby Autos Ltd which they bought from its original owners four years ago and kept the same name.
Paul worked as a specialist Land Rover mechanic for a decade, as well as previously becoming a TVR motorsports and Formula 3000 mechanic for a number of years. He was also a college lecturer for 12 years teaching automotive technology City & Guilds up to Level 3 apprentices, diagnostic training courses, MOT tester training, MOT manager courses and other related subjects.


As part of the Auto Care Group of independent garages, using their software and parts ensures Earby Autos Ltd is able to offer up to 3 years parts and labour warranty. Paul and his team are also members of the Institute of the Motor Industry for professional standards. Offering services to vehicle owners from across Lancashire and North Yorkshire from their garage on the border of both counties, they offer a full range of services including: MOT testing, diagnostics, motorhome habitation servicing, Tyre fitting and storage, Vehicle health checks, Airconditioning and re-gassing and Crypton tuning for older series Land Rovers.
Paul is as comfortable restoring his 1976 Land Rover, as he is servicing or repairing the latest electric or hybrid car. In fact, they have invested in installing new plug-in charging points on their forecourt. This is a rapidly growing market and in 2030 the only new vehicles able to buy will be battery powered. Earby Autos saw the future developing rapidly and underwent a 3-year training plan to ensure all of our staff would meet the 2030 deadline.
They have a large car park to accommodate motorhomes and camper vans, as well as to store summer and winter tyres for their loyal customers. They also offer a customer loyalty card scheme allowing customers to a reduced bill after 5 visits and a free MOT after 10 visits.

Paul regularly posts technical tips on Earby Autos’ FB and passes on his knowledge to their apprentices, as well as the schools and colleges which approach him for work experience placements.
