The Burnley Express revealed in June that the historic firm had gone into administration.

Elizabeth House, a three-storey building in Elizabeth Street, has been given a guide price of between £160,000 and £180,000 by Pugh Property Auctioneers.

It will be auctioned in the Citizen Suite at Manchester City Football Club on Thursday.

The original Nelson-based Steele Ford and Newton – an offshoot of the historic Steele and Sons firm – merged with Burnley firm JGT in 2012. The firm dealt primarily with criminal law, family law and personal injury. It is believed government cuts in the Legal Aid budget led to its demise.
