Pendle school closed for deep clean after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

A Colne school is set to be closed for 14 days to undergo a deep clean after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials at Fisher More RC High School in Gibfield Road posted a school closure statement on their website and are advising staff and pupils who were in school during the week to isolate.

The statement reads as follows: "School will be closed for 14 days due to a staff member testing positive for Covid-19. All pupils who were in school last week will be contacted directly by Mr Walmsley. During the closure the building will undergo a deep clean and all staff and pupils who were in school during the week have been advised to isolate with their households for 14 days."

Fisher More's temporary closure comes a day after Shuttleworth College in Burnley was closed for a deep clean after a teacher was diagnosed with coronavirus. Shuttleworth College is set to reopen on Monday.
