Former Clitheroe pupils and aspiring beauticians secure apprenticeships
Two Blackburn College beauty apprentices are benefitting from their work-based learning experience at an Accrington salon.
Ellie Clayton, who attended Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, studies beauty therapy level 2, while Hannah Fish, who attended St Augustine’s RC High School in Billington, studies beauty therapy level 3. Now, they are both gaining valuable experience at Pure Perfection beauty salon.
Ellie (19) said: “I have recently joined the Pure Perfection team in Accrington and I am really excited to learn new treatments and skills to make my clients feel good as well as progressing my career.
“I am a hardworking and enthusiastic person who is passionate about beauty. I am always looking to improve and develop my skills to deliver the best results.”
Hannah (18) said: “I started my Level 3 Apprenticeship at Blackburn College in September 2019 and I’ve loved every minute of it! The college has allowed me to enhance my skills and
qualifications in the best way possible.
“My tutor, Sally, has been amazing with her support throughout my apprenticeship and makes every lesson fun and practical. My favourite part is making my client’s feel good about themselves and receiving their lovely feedback!
“Although I love doing all treatments, my favourite treatment is massages as I enjoy making clients feel totally relaxed and pampered! I have loved learning on my Blackburn College
apprenticeship and would recommend it to anyone.”
Carla Chatburn, owner and managing director at Pure Perfection, added: “Both girls are a credit to themselves, the Blackburn College apprenticeship programmes and my salon.”
