Speaking after the launch, writing group co-ordinator Katie Swingewood said: “Our anthology has been really well received so far and we are all very proud of it.

“The Word’s Out features a fantastic selection of imaginative, nostalgic and topical poetry and prose which demonstrates how diverse our writers are.

“We are currently open for new members and I hope that the anthology inspires others to come along and join us at our monthly meetings.”

Topics featured in the book include the north-south divide, fracking, loss and even Ribble Valley highwayman, Ned King.
