Roger and the Burnley Civic Trust have assembled a fascinating group of photographs from Burnley’s main shopping street throughout its history.

Parker Lane was not exempted from re-development as the middle part of this image shows. A new row of shops was built, between Parker Street and Croft Street, in which the Lucas Club held the upper floors. On the left is the Boot Inn, of 1910, which, in a previous existence, was once known as the Boot & Shoe. The White Lion Hotel is on the right.
