Photo of Burnley fans taken 60 years ago prompts nostalgic reunion at Burnley pub The Bridge Bier Huis

A framed photo of Burnley fans, that takes pride of a place in a Burnley pub, celebrates a special anniversary this weekend.

The black and white print of the Clarets fans, supporting their team when they travelled to Stuttgart on September 20, 1966, has been hanging in The Bridge Bier Huis for two decades after it was gifted to the pub. Two of the lads on the photo, Stephen Edwards and Malcolm Moss, are still regulars at the Bank Parade watering hole.

To mark the 60th anniversary landlady Emma Harrison shared the image to track down any other fans on the photo for an informal reunion this Saturday after the home game against Derby County at Turf Moor.

Emma said: “When the photo was brought in it was quite faded so we had it enhanced and enlarged and framed.

“It would be nice to find any other fans on the photo, or their relatives possibly, to come along. It’s very informal, from around 6pm after the game.

“We would love to hear from anyone who recognises themselves in the photo, or if they were at the game. It would be nice to hear their stories and bring a few people together.”
