The Bike Service will be provided by Trawden’s Go Velo at locations in Great Harwood and Rossendale, to support the staff and enable them to travel safely and efficiently into work. The service will give staff the much needed confidence to travel knowing that their bike is safe to use on the roads.

Established in 2009, Go Velo has been providing Bikeability and adult cycle training courses throughout Lancashire funded by Connecting East Lancashire and Lancashire County Council.

The company is proud to be able to offer free bike servicing for NHS staff at this critical time. Go Velo hopes that this support will be an additional incentive for NHS staff to drag their bikes out of the shed and get cycling into work.

Go Velo founder and managing director, Kirsti Grayson, said: "We are all being encouraged to cycle more whether for leisure or for commuting, and NHS staff are a key part of our community who we want to support.

"They work incredibly hard putting their lives at risk for us every single day. This is our way of saying thank you. We want to show as many as we can that cycling is safe, fun, good for the environment and good for us, too: we could all do with a boost of feel-good endorphins at a time like this."
