Primary school in Padiham closes its doors after recording more than 10 cases of Covid-19 among staff and pupils
A primary school has closed its doors, less than two weeks after pupils and staff returned to the classroom for the first time in three months.
Mr Mark Dixon who is headteacher at Padiham Green Primary in St Anne's Street said that more than 10 of the school's staff and pupils had tested positive for coronavirus in the past few days.
He sad: "Given these figures, we have no choice but to revert to teaching pupils remotely this week in line with our robust risk assessment and safety guidelines.
"Pupil and staff safety is our priority and we must take this action to prevent the spread of coronavirus in our school and in the community here in Padiham.
"We want all children to return to their classrooms following the Easter break.
"It is vital that parents follow the rules set out by the Government to allow us to do this."
