Lancashire infection rates: This is how each area compares as stark 'full-lockdown' warning issued

Yesterday, Lancashire's three directors of public health issued a stark warning to residents that the region could be just weeks away from full lockdown.

Sakthi Karunanithi, DPH for Lancashire County Council; Arif Rajpura, DPH for Blackpool Council; and Dominic Harrison, DPH for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, said they are keen to stress the importance of following the rules, citing hefty fines and increased restrictions in the future if people "if people don’t take notice now".

Currently the rates of Covid-19 in Lancashire are among some of the highest in the country.

Here we take a look at the current infection rate in each area of Lancashire and how they compare.

The figures below are based on Public Health England (PHE) data in the seven days to September 26.
