Kind hearted taxi drivers step in to do supermarket runs for NHS staff across Burnley and Pendle

Volunteer taxi drivers have put themselves forward to go shopping for NHS staff working on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

And the teams of kind hearted drivers from Nelson and Burnley based Delta Taxis will also drop off the groceries for the vital workers.

The company made the decision to help after many NHS staff were left without vital supplies for themselves and their families after panic buyers raided supermarket shelves leaving very little for others.

And the Delta drivers have said they will only charge for the shopping, delivery will be free.

A spokesman for the company said: "We hope this allows our wonderful NHS to concentrate on saving lives whilst we take this worry away from them."
