Chairman of the Ribble Valley biggest football teams, Ross Hibbert explained: "As a club we wanted to do a little bit to try and help the local community as much as we could. We know a lot of families are struggling at this time and the NHS are doing such an amazing job too.

"We have been lucky enough to have been awarded some funding for some new machinery and had a mower that hadn’t done much work for a couple of summers. The committee decided it might be a good idea to sell it and donate the money to the two charities so £500 went to the Ribble Valley Foodbank and the other £500, with the help of Tess and Mark Walker went to the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in the form of fresh fruit. As a community club we feel it’s important we repay the support we have been shown over the last few years during a tough time."
