With places of worship closed as a result of the epidemic, children have been taking part in online classes and were set homework to design and create their own thank-you card by the Imam. Taking to the task with relish, the kids have produced a raft of cards expressing their gratitude for the NHS during what is an extremely difficult time.

"It lets us show how much we value what the NHS is doing whilst putting themselves at risk.

"The kids really relished it and, while it's a difficult time for everyone, it shows they're embracing working and learning from home," Clrr Anwar added. "If there's one positive to take from all this, it's the fact that all our communities, regardless of background or faith, are pulling together.

"Being a Burnley lad, seeing how the town has come together to support the vulnerable through food banks and other efforts shows how united we are together."
