A spokesman for Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, who organise the event, said: "Like many companies, Run For All is having to review its operations. Our team are a young, passionate and an incredibly enthusiastic bunch who can’t wait to be back in the office and out in the warehouse prepping for your events.

Since Run For All began in 2007 the ethos has always been the same, to provide a vehicle for individuals and charities to fundraise, whilst providing events that are accessible to all. We know that due to the virus, charities are going to struggle to not only cope with the demand for their services but also to raise the vital funds required to keep them going.

"Our events for a number of our partners have become an essential fundraising stream which only goes to cement how important it is that we host these events.

"Once we overcome this virus, and we will, we want our events to become a true celebration of life. It's not until it's taken away, our freedom to participate, to fundraise or to interact that we realise what’s really important."

"Given the outbreak we have been working closely with our delivery partners across our events and the decision has been made that all events that should have taken place in March through to July 2020 will be postponed.

"At this stage, we haven’t been able to confirm new dates with all partners but we are working hard to achieve this."

Burnley 10k entrants will receive an email by April 3rd detailing what they should do next.

"At this stage, we would ask that you please don’t send any emails or messages to us until you have received your individual event email," added the spokesman.

"Due to the number of events being postponed and us needing to move to skeleton staff we simply won’t be able to answer any individual queries. Please wait till you have received your event email to make your selection.

"There will be another event day, you will achieve another PB, you will smash that fundraising goal, but for now let’s look after one another, share event memories and look forward to showing off those finisher’s medals.

"Please look after yourselves and your family and stay safe."
