Booths supermarket launches free next-day delivery for elderly and vulnerable isolated due to coronavirus

In order to ensure that the elderly and vulnerable who are isolated are able to access all the items and provisions they need during the pandemic, Booths has launched a phone order service on which the aforementioned groups will receive priority. The store also has a range of 14 essential grocery bundles covering basics from milk, bread, eggs, pasta, tea, fruit, vegetables, and meat.

Respectfully asking that only those who really need this service use it due to their capacity being limited, Booths' deliveries commenced last Thursday and incorporated an area within a three-mile radius of the stores. Operating five days a week from Monday to Friday, there are no charges for delivery.

“These are unprecedented times and Booths wanted to help assist the most vulnerable members of our communities that are affected by the virus," said a Booths spokesperson. "We have limited capacity for deliveries, so we are asking customers to reserve this delivery service for only those in great need.

“Booths have worked quickly to implement this system at a time when supermarkets are under tremendous pressure and we’re anticipating a great deal of demand," they added. "We’ll do our best to serve as many customers in need at this time of need and respectfully request that you only use this service if you absolutely need to, as slots are very limited.”
