19 photos as colleagues from Burnley based Healycare Ltd host bake sale for Positive Action in the Community

A bake sale organised by a group of Burnley colleagues raised £330 for two charities.

The event was held at the former Talbot Hotel in Ormerod Road and included a jewellery and plant stall, home-made crafts, face painting, and a lemonade stand.

It was hosted by staff from Healycare Ltd, a provider of supporting care to individuals with mental health needs and learning disabilities. Some of the service users also got involved in the day.

A ‘brave the shave,’ and sponsored 24 mile walk from Burnley to Manchester are also on the cards as part of the mission. Colleagues have also clocked up 100,000 steps in May.

Staff at the company, which has four homes in Burnley and Haslingden, decided they wanted to raise money for two charities that benefit young people who may experience similar struggles to the people they support, Pendle based Positive Action in the Community and Wood Street Mission in Manchester which supports families living on a low income.
