Langho pupils vote for their favourite book
St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School pupils are reading and reviewing books after receiving a supply of new books from the Lancashire School Library Service.
There are four different books as part of the ‘Fantastic Book Awards 2025/6’ which can be read by pupils, aged 9-11, during their lunch break and then they can write a review.
Pupils have the opportunity to read all the books and then they can vote for their favourite.
The Langho school have a Book Club where these books can be read and discussed.

Head teacher Caroline Boden said: “At St Mary's, our Book Clubs are very popular and are a great way to spend a lunchtime in school.
“Book Clubs are important as it encourages a love of reading for pleasure and the skills which come from that.
“Year 6 children are part of the Fantastic Book Awards with LCC. They get to read brand new, freshly published books, and vote for the favourite.
“Even better than that - they get to love reading together, have a chat, and a special Book Club pizza party!”
