Langho headteacher and pupils get their skates on
The headteacher and pupils at St Mary’s RC Primary School are getting their skates on to help their mental well-being.
Caroline Boden is leading roller skating lessons at the Langho school and says so far they are gliding nicely.
The headteacher said: “My son wanted to have a go at skating and I thought it would be fun. I used to love roller skating when I was younger so I went with him.
“I found it really stress-busting as well as a good, fun, physical exercise.

“We had a fun day at school where you had to come as your favourite sports person and I came as Jayne Torvill and the children thought it was great!
“I decided to introduce a session into school. It’s just, when life is a bit grey, it’s nice to bring a bit of joy and I think roller skating does that.
“We hold sessions every Friday and the pupils are enjoying it.”
Year 4 Autumn Andrews said: “Roller skating is one of my hobbies and so it’s great you can do it at school. It uses energy and makes me feel better.”
Beatrice Huffer said: “It’s a good activity to do in school.”
