Headteacher and four colleagues retire from Heasandford Primary School after 124 years of combined service
A Burnley primary school is saying an emotional goodbye to five long-serving members of staff whose combined service adds up to an impressive 124 years.
Heasandford Primary School is marking the retirement of headteacher Jackie Hall, assistant headteacher Catherine Robinson, specialist teacher Sue Lonsdale, class teacher Saeedah Mehmood and learning mentor Tahir Mehboob.
The five colleagues have spent decades serving the school and its community, helping to educate and support generations of children in Burnley.
Staff, pupils and parents have paid tribute to the retiring team members, thanking them for their dedication, care and commitment over the years.

Together, the group has played a key role in shaping the lives of thousands of local children, providing guidance, encouragement and inspiration both inside and outside the classroom.
Mrs Hall said: “Heasandford has been such a very special school to work at and it is one of the reasons why we have all stayed here so long.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to work with the most amazing children, staff, governors and the whole community and we will all retire with the fondest of memories.”
The school has wished all five retirees a happy and fulfilling next chapter as they begin life beyond the classroom.
Their departure marks the end of an era for Heasandford Primary School, where their collective experience and dedication have helped create a strong sense of community and supported countless young people throughout their education.
And as the academic year draws to a close, the Burnley school community is preparing to give the group a heartfelt send-off in recognition of their extraordinary service.
