Burnley company is alert on security for UCLan halls of residence

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) halls of residence is situated on the new Weavers' Triangle development and opened in September.
Lindsey Robinson, account manager at Alert, said: “We are thrilled to be taking over the maintenance and monitoring of the fire and security systems for the building and continue to work and support Burnley Council. Our range of expertise and experience will ensure that the building remains safe and protected for our next generation of students.”

Hide AdThe new halls of residence is owned by Burnley Borough Council, with the university providing the day-to-day services. With 136 en-suite bedrooms within 29 flats, each flat has a communal kitchen and 4/5 bedrooms.


A spokesman for the university added: “We have ambitious plans to increase the number of university students educated in Burnley by ten-fold and for us to realise this intention we are committed to developing an environment which truly enhances the overall student experience.
"Providing purpose-built student accommodation on the banks of the canal, adjacent to the University’s Victoria Mill, is a vital factor in helping us fulfil our aims. We’re therefore delighted to have appointed Alert Fire and Security who have really bought into our educational vision.”
Alert Fire and Security has been providing fire and safety services for 25 years, founded by Trevor Shanley.
