A passion for fashion at St Mary's
St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School’s pupils are hoping to find the next Vivienne Westwood or Alexander McQueen as they show off their skills at Thursday Fashion Club.
Headteacher Caroline Boden has a love of fashion and introduced the club to help pupils from all year groups show off their creative talents.
It’s run by volunteer Anne Haworth, who is the grandma of one of the pupils, and Kathryn Tattersall.
Mrs Boden said: “The pupils love it. They learn skills like design, colouring on fabric, sewing and generally just being creative.

“Mrs Haworth has donated all of the materials and her time every week to create bags, baubles and crochet.
“We started with designing their own tote bags and who knows where it may take them?
“We would love to visit a fashion show and are on the lookout of an exhibition that we can visit, to eventually hold our own catwalk show one day. Who knows, you could be watching our first collection at Central St Martin's in years to come!”
