Whether it’s cricket legend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, MasterChef judge Marcus Wareing, or acting royalty Sir Ian McKellen, Lancashire’s famous sons and daughters have made their mark far and wide.
And it’s not just household names – our list includes soap stars like Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actress Nikki Sanderson, plus a few you may have forgotten started out right here in the Red Rose county.

89. Graham Hicks

90. Paul Hayes
Antiques expert and television personality, Paul Hayes, was born on August 4 1970 in Morecambe. He has appeared in BBC's Bargain Hunt, Housecall and Cash in the Attic. He was also appointed by Crimewatch as their resident stolen antiques expert and presented Car Booty on BBC One. Hayes began trading Dinky Toys at the age of six and aged 19, he followed his father into the antiques business. His first sale was an old television. 91. Dame Thora Hird
he actress, comedian, presenter and writer enjoyed a career spanning over 70 years in which she appeared in more than 100 film and television roles, becoming a household name and a British institution. Thora was born in Morecambe and her family background was largely theatrical. Her mother had been an actress, while her father managed a number of entertainment venues in Morecambe, including the Royalty Theatre, where Thora made her first appearance, and the West End Pier.
