Three 1st West Craven Beaver Scouts earn Chief Scout's Bronze Award
Three young members of 1st West Craven Beaver Scouts have achieved the highest award available in the Beaver section after two years of dedication and adventure.
Travis, Bella and Jack have each been presented with the prestigious Chief Scout's Bronze Award, recognising their commitment to developing new skills, taking on challenges and supporting their local community.
To earn the award, the trio successfully completed all six Beaver Challenge Awards – My Adventure, My Outdoors, Personal, My Skills, Teamwork and My World – as well as at least two Activity Badges.
Along the way, they achieved badges in areas including cooking, first aid, world faiths, animal friends, creative activities, science experiments and health and fitness.

Their journey has seen them enjoy camping and countryside walks to learning knots, grass sledging, craft projects and problem-solving missions. They have also carried out litter-picking, visited a church and fire station, and taken part in science experiments and team games.
Josie Underwood, Beaver Leader at 1st West Craven Scout Group, said: "This is a fantastic achievement. No Beaver at West Craven has earned the Chief Scout's Bronze Award for more than 10 years, so we are incredibly proud of Travis, Bella and Jack and everything they have accomplished.
“They have worked consistently over the past two years to complete every challenge and have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm. They thoroughly deserve this recognition.”
The three Beavers are now preparing to attend their first District Camp this weekend before moving up to the Cub Scouts section.
