Positivity Pioneer Win for Burnley Charity CEO

The Freshies Charity Business Awards 2025, which is run by Chorley based recruitment agency Fresh Perspective Resourcing, is a not-for-profit awards bringing together local community organisations, businesses and individuals in the northwest.

The Awards, now in its fifth year, is designed with a twist and celebrates winners with categories such as Captain Kindness, HR Hero and Nifty Networker.

Fighting off the stiff competition for the Positivity Pioneer Award, Sarah was announced winner at a glittering event held at Rivington Hall Barn on Friday 20th June.

Having been nominated for one of the ‘Freshies’ businesses and individuals must ask for votes on social media, followed by a final round of intense interviews with the judging panel.

Sarah says of winning the Award, “The competition was tough with lots of deserved winners who are thinking outside the box to make their business a success through advocacy, creativity, and resilience.

It’s great to be recognised through these awards as an ambassador for positivity. I believe that a great mind set has got me where I am today. Running any organisation can be a challenging task, then throw into the mix a pandemic, an equine crisis and the cost-of-living crisis, things can get tough. But when the going gets tough, the tough get stronger, difficult times are easier to navigate with spirit and enthusiasm.

I would like to thank everyone who voted for me and the judging panel for awarding me with the honour of Freshies Positivity Pioneer.”

Trish Warren, HAPPA’s Chair of Trustees, says “Sarah really is a true inspiration to the HAPPA Team, and we are delighted that she has been recognised for the positivity she brings to the leadership of the Charity, a truly deserved winner.”

HAPPA strives to give a second chance to neglected, abused and unwanted equines through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and education. Why don’t you join the Positivity? www.happa.org.uk
