A team of estate agency staff have completed an epic 196-mile relay in memory of a much-loved colleague, raising more than £31,000 for two cancer charities.

Colleagues from Mortimers and its parent company, Northern Estate Agencies Group, set off from the company's Clitheroe branch on Monday, July 13, before walking, cycling and running between branches across Lancashire.

The challenge was organised in memory of Sophie, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Inspired by the Coffee Cup Relay she had previously organised, staff took on the endurance challenge to honour her memory while raising funds for two cancer charities.

The relay concluded on Friday, July 17, with the team smashing their original fundraising target of £20,000.

So far, more than £31,000 has been raised, with the total expected to increase further once cash and cheque donations have been counted.

Among those taking part were Sophie's husband, Alex, and the couple's daughter, Agnes, who joined colleagues and supporters for the emotional challenge.
