Burnley to mark Holocaust Memorial Day with Peace Gardens service

Arrangements have been made for the annual Holocaust Memorial service to be held at the Peace Gardens in Burnley.

The service, which will be held at 11am on Sunday, January 25, will commemorate and honour all the victims of the Holocaust and assert a commitment to oppose racism, antisemitism, victimisation, genocide and Islamophobia. It will be attended by Mayor of Burnley Coun. Paul Reynolds.

Members of the public are invited to attend and wreaths of remembrance may be laid after the service.

The service is held each year on the Sunday closest to International Holocaust Memorial Day, which takes place on January 27, the date when the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated in 1945.
