Damian Walmsley, Partner of MHA Moore & Smalley, which is sponsoring the awards this year, said he believed that entering the awards would provide businesses with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months.

MHA Moore & Smalley is a leading independent provider of accounting, tax, business advisory and wealth management services with offices in Preston, Blackpool and Lancaster.

Damian said: “The past 12 months has been the most difficult many of us can remember to be in business and it is a massive achievement whatever sector of the economy you are in.

“We have seen businesses making huge sacrifices, making major changes and driving innovation to ensure they can survive the challenges the coronavirus pandemic has thrown at them.

“The BIBAs offer businesses the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of their people and I would urge everyone in Lancashire to apply.”

For the first time The BIBAs will be offering cash prizes to some of the winners with the profits from its ceremony given to Lancashire businesses with cash prizes and investment grants.

Chief Executive Babs Murphy said: “The last 12 months has led to a lot of financial hardship among businesses and we have responded to do our part.

“By giving these prizes to our winners, we hope to do our bit to provide some support.”
