Supermarket proves to be bags of help for Pendleside Hospice

A Colne supermarket has given bags of help to Pendleside Hospice in the form of a generous donation.

Sainsbury's has donated more than £300 worth of items to be used in its inpatient bedrooms and to be used as raffle and auction prizes to raise funds.

Najma Karim, customer experience manager at the store, said: “We have a charity fund which we can use to help local charities. The charity many of our employees chose to help is Pendleside Hospice.

"We all know of someone who’s family member or friend has benefitted from their help. It must be difficult for them to fundraise during this Covid pandemic so we are delighted to be able to help them.”

Christina Cope, head of corporate fund-raising at Pendleside, said “On behalf of Pendleside I would like to say a big thank you to the Sainsbury’s, Colne team. Sainsbury’s have supported us previously and continue to do so and we are very grateful for their donations they are a big boost to helping us raise funds and care for our patients.”
