New shop plan for Burnley petrol station site

A Burnley petrol station is being brought back into use after plans to build a new shop on the site were approved.

The existing kiosk, located next to the filling station in Accrington Road, will de demolished and replaced with a larger building.

On the forecourt, the position of the existing pumps will not alter. There will be dedicated parking spaces to one side of the site with air and water pumps located to the opposite side.

Approving the application, Burnley Council planning officers added in a condition that the filling station and shop can only open between 6am and 11pm.

This was in response to concerns raised by nearby residents over the proposed 24-hour operation of the business
