St James' CE Primary School is just over a mile away from where Miller are bringing new homes to the community at Montague Place

After being put in an England-wide lockdown, children have been encouraged to learn from home, but one barrier remains: access to technology. Miller Homes hope to help fill that gap with the donation of Amazon Fire tablets, and are supporting a number of schools across the north west.

The Amazon Fire tablets were delivered to the school this week and will be distributed to the pupils who need them the most during this period.

Fiona Pattison, headteacher, said “It’s been great to be introduced to Miller Homes who have very kindly offered to support our school with much-needed tech. The Amazon Fire tablets will be very welcomed by our pupils who are being home-schooled, and will go to those who need them most.”

Leanne Feeley, Regional Sales Manager at Miller Homes North West adds “We’re looking forward to getting involved in the Clitheroe community, and are kickstarting that with the tech donation to St James’ CE primary school. We understand how important internet access is for children at the moment, and we are proud to be supporting that.”

The Montague Place development will feature 110 new homes, consisting of two bed bungalows, and three and four-bedroom houses.

Miller Homes will also be making contributions of over £870,000 to the local area. This money will be used towards a variety of different areas for the residents and local community. Over £600,000 of the sum will go towards education, £70,000 to town centre upgrade works and £200,000 will go towards improving public transport.
