The application to transform and extend the former New Black Bull in Mill Street into five flats, will mark the end of almost 200 years of the site being used as a pub.

A Heritage and Design statement submitted as part of the application by the Hodgson Property Group in Brierfield, states that plans for the conversion will retain as many original features as possible and there will be a single-storey extension to the rear.

The statement goes on to say that part of the roof has collapsed leading to water penetration and rain damage to the interior.
