Burnley start-up businesses encouraged to apply for awards

Local start-up businesses are being encouraged to apply for a national award.

Entries are now open for the second SJL Foundation "SJL National Start-Up Business Awards”.

Start-up owners shortlisted could receive a £2,000 grant and access to a free mentorship programme with entrepreneur Simon Lancaster, the staff at SJL Insurance, their suppliers and associates.

Burnley MP Antony Higginbotham said: “Starting up any business is challenging but we have a lot of talent in Burnley and Padiham and we should be supporting those who take this step.

“For anybody who is just starting out have a look and put your name forward."

To enter the competition, entrants need to email [email protected] to ask for an application form and submit their completed application form by the closing date of Monday March 2nd.

All applicants must be available to travel to London on June 3rd for the event, if they are chosen as a successful finalist.

Finalists will then pitch to a panel of judges and an audience of invited guests at the Houses of Parliament on June 3rd.
