Ultimate Visual Solutions has been able to respond to requests for the screens after an existing manufacturing partner, Poland-based Edbak, amended production to make much-needed Perspex shields, known as Proscreen. Edbak usually supplies UVS with mounting brackets for LCD display monitors.

The initial supply to the council is for protection screens to help keep staff and customers safe when lockdown is further eased.

UVS, based at the Business First Burnley Business Centre, will now make the screens available to a wide variety of clients, including local authorities, food and restaurant chains, pharmacies and petrol stations.

UVS managing director Steve Murphy said: “This is not something we had anticipated doing but we discovered that Edbak, one of our suppliers, had amended production of products for the audio visual market to help meet demand, and when it became obvious that people in this country were struggling to get hold of them it seemed only right that we should help.

“I must stress that this is not something we are doing to capitalise on the current situation and we have reduced our margin on the products accordingly to reflect that.”
