It’s a great time to get out in the garden and get planning and planting for the year ahead and where better to get inspiration than at a Plant Hunters Fair at Hoghton Tower. The plants are lovingly grown by specialist nurseries and these enthusiastic plants people are on hand to give honest, straightforward advice on choosing and growing the right plants for your garden. Raver Tots is a family rave-style event where kids and grown-ups can hit the dance floor and let off some steam. They cater for all ages from tiny babies up. Celebrating the best of British rave culture, you can expect some of the countries biggest name DJs playing the best in old skool rave, Happy Hardcore, Drum & Bass, House and Garage with lots of kids fun including mini soft play area, parachutes, glow sticks and more. It’s at VIVA Blackpool, and runs from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. Tickets from £8.50.

Family friendly, non-profit, award-winning entertainment featuring the best current and up and coming wrestlers from around the UK. All raising money for the restoration of the Alhambra building - featuring the world famous Morecambe raffle in aid of Morecambe Bay foodbank. To while away some time on a Saturday, why not join the Memorial Park team for an afternoon of crafts? Booking is essential for this craft session. All ages are welcome, and a parent or guardian must attend the workshop. Those attending should go along dressed to get messy - so old clothes or clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Mrs Sand Art is back at Brockholes Nature Reserve with her ever popular arts and crafts sessions. You will make pictures from coloured sand and leave with a very impressive finished product. You may get a little messy, so come dressed with that in mind. There is no need to book, just go along. Sessions at 10am until 12pm and 1pm until 4pm. Admission is £3 per picture. This is a bi-weekly meet-up group for parents and children alike who enjoy reading and a good story. It is free to attend and there is no age limit. Children are encouraged to bring along their own favourite stories to read at the group (this is not a must). Each session there will be a theme story read by a parent. This reading club is aiming to provide an opportunity for children to improve knowledge as well as to boost their confidence as an end goal. Starts at 3pm at the Harris library.

Mesmerising pianist, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Pendle Young Musicians Bursary prize winner for soloist performance, returns to the Muni Theatre in Colne for another session of vivid music making with Gábor and the orchestra, presenting a programme of Mozart music in high definition. The Sunday afternoon performance will be a concentrated one hour performance of the highest calibre, starting at 1pm. Expect to hear Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.15 and his Quintet for Piano and Winds. The Ferret pub in Preston are keeping the jazz train rolling with another jazz Sunday and they are toying with the idea of doing it every month. As awareness is raised over the state of the world’s oceans and beaches, why not join the Cleveleys beach care rangers to help make a difference and do your bit? Marine litter is a global problem, so go along to make your local coastal environment a better place for you, your children, its wildlife and the environment. They supply all the equipment, just wear your wellies and suitable outdoor clothing. It’s taking place on Sunday from 10.30am until 11.30am.
